"I have seen too much not to know that the impression of a woman may be more valuable than the conclusion of an analytical reasoner." -- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Sorry for the boring name....I just didn't think signing off Fatty Patty was a good idea. I am struggling with the exercise thing.....I have to get moving. Any suggestions to improve motivation?
The "Hill" isn't inspiring enough? LOL Maybe turn on your favorite cd or plug in your ipod while you are cooking. That should add a couple extra calories burned while you sing RESPECT at the chicken! Burn calories, not food! My inspiration (when I am get to the point of not falling down from this stupid neuritis) is to look at pictures of my father in the nursing home suffering from the ravaging effects of uncontrolled diabetes. THAT is motivating. Maybe there is someone in your family who hasn't taken very good care of themselves and you can see the effects of that and say to yourself "Self, I am NOT going there!" I hope you find some motivation based on humor and hope!
Set a very immediate goal for the day or the week. Don't look at the long-haul yet! I think we spend too much time thinking about the goal when we should be focusing on a lifestyle change. This is not a diet or a phase, it's a change of lifestyle that happens a little bit every day. So, just focus on today. Decide now what one change you can make today that will be a change in lifestyle, and start doing that every day. And reward yourself when you feel like that one change has become a habit.
